From Prague Airport

Prague International Airport (Vaclav Havel Airport Prague) is about 17 km far from city centre. Unfortunately, there is no direct speed train connection to the centre. Visitors can use two ordinary bus lines (nr. 119, 100) or the Airport Express line. Bus stops are located in front of the departure / arrival hall. If you fly from countries outside the Schengen area, you arrive to Terminal 1. If you fly from Schengen countries, you arrive to Terminal 2.

Bus AE (Airport Express)

From Terminal 1 to Prague main railway station

For AE you need to buy ticket specifically from driver (60 CZK). Normal tickets from ticket machine are not acceptable here. It takes about 33 minutes. Bus is leaving just from bus stop.

Public transportation & tickets

Visitors can purchase a ticket (by cash or in some cases by card) using a ticket machine in the departure hall or next to bus stop which is located outside of terminal. You can also buy tickets in newsstands, information centers or with higher price by bus driver. The most suitable ticket for travelling around Prague costs 32 CZK. It is valid for 90 minutes and it is interchangeable (valid for bus, tram, and metro). Mark the ticket immediately after entry to the bus in yellow machine near a door. You will need to buy a ticket if you would like to use public transportation for your journey from Airport to bus or train station (just for Airport express is necessary to buy a ticket from bus driver).

By train

Using Bus

The best way how to get to Prague main train station is to use the Airport Express line. The Airport Express Line is a service of the Czech Railways and this bus goes from Terminal 1 directly to main train station (Wilsonovo Station) near city centre. This kind of transport is not a part of the Prague Integral Transport System, so do not purchase a ticket using a ticket machinepay directly to bus driver. One-way journey costs 60 CZK.

Using Taxi or Uber

Adress of Prague main railway station is Wilsonova 300/8, 120 00 Vinohrady-Praha 2.

Price for Taxi is about 400 CZK. Price for Uber is 300 CZK and more.

From Prague to Jindrichuv Hradec

The journey from Prague by train is approximately 220 CZK and it is not necessary to buy ticket in advance. You must take a train which goes to Ceske Budejovice and change the train in Veseli nad Luznici train station.  In Veseli nad Luznici you need to find right platform for continuing your journey to Jindrichuv Hradec. Ask any of stuff or check boards with the schedule. The whole journey takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

From Jindrichuv Hradec railway station to dormitories/Faculty

When you finally come to Jindrichuv Hradec railway station, there is just 13 minutes of walk to dormitories. It is not necessary to call taxi or go by bus. For better orientation, you can check map and street view.

How to get to bus station?

The best way how to get to Prague main bus terminal from Airport is to use bus line 100 which goes to terminal subway station Zlicin (subway line B). It should take about 20 minutes. Than you will use the same subway (line B) from Zlicin to Florenc. This should take about 30 minutes.

By taxi or Uber

Another possibility is to use Uber or taxi. In this case, ask driver to get you off here:

Bus Journey from Prague to Jindrichuv Hradec

There are many busses which regularly go from Bus Terminal Florenc to Jindrichuv Hradec.

Many of them are with transfer in different city, but there are some direct busses as well. We strongly recommend you use direct busses to your journey.

By car

Another possibility how to get to Jindrichuv Hradec is by car. Students like to use this opportunity, because it is the fastest way how to travel from Prague to Jindrichuv Hradec. However, it could be harder for you as foreign students to find somebody (language bareer) with who you can share ride.

Price depends on each driver, but it is usually 100 CZK. Ride is about 1 hour 30 minutes and you should make a deal with driver 2 or 3 days before. It could also happen that in date which you need will nobody go.
