Czech currency and ATMs

The official currency of the Czech Republic is the Czech crown. Once you arrive you will need to exchange your money for Czech crowns.

To make this process easier for you, below you can find some exchange points available in Prague. Be careful of high exchange fees which some exchange points can charge. This is often usually at the airport. Therefore, it is better to change only the money you need for transport. Do not change all your money at the airport.

Another option is to pay by credit or debit card. In this case, we recommend you check your bank so that you are not charged any additional fees when paying by card in a foreign country. You can also withdraw money from an ATM but if you are interested in this option, it is wise to check the information about this at your bank as well.

You are free to use any of these options although our advice is to always have some cash with you.
